Minified API responses are impossible to read. Paste any JSON and turn it into neatly indented, human-friendly output — or compress it back into a single line to save bytes in production.

Features & benefits

  • Beautify & minify

Switch between readable indentation and compact single-line output.

  • Sort keys

Recursively order object keys A–Z to make diffs and reviews easier.

  • Precise errors

Invalid input shows the line and column of the problem instead of failing silently.

  • Private

Your JSON is never sent anywhere, so it's safe for tokens and internal data.

Why format JSON?

JSON (JavaScript Object Notation) is the most common data format on the web, used by REST APIs, configuration files and NoSQL databases. Servers usually send it minified — with all whitespace removed — to save bandwidth, which makes it hard for humans to scan.

Formatting adds consistent indentation and line breaks so the nested structure becomes obvious. Sorting keys produces a canonical ordering, which is invaluable when comparing two versions of a configuration file.

Frequently asked questions

Is my JSON uploaded?

No. Parsing and formatting use your browser's built-in JSON engine; nothing leaves your device.

Can it fix invalid JSON?

It reports exactly where the error is so you can fix it. To check validity in more detail, use the JSON Validator.

Will very large numbers lose precision?

JavaScript numbers are accurate up to 2^53. Integers larger than that, such as some 64-bit IDs, may be rounded when formatted.
