Features & benefits

  • Ten case styles

UPPER, lower, Title, Sentence, aLtErNaTiNg, iNVERSE, camelCase, PascalCase, snake_case and kebab-case.

  • Smart title case

Keeps short words like “and”, “of” and “the” lowercase unless they start the title.

  • Developer cases

Turn plain phrases into identifiers for code, URLs and file names.

  • Unicode support

Correctly converts accented and non-Latin letters such as é, ß and Ж.

Which case should you use?

Title Case is standard for headlines and book titles in English, while Sentence case — capitalising only the first word and proper nouns — is increasingly preferred for user interfaces and web headings because it reads more naturally.

Programmers use naming conventions to make code consistent: camelCase for JavaScript variables, PascalCase for classes and components, snake_case in Python and databases, and kebab-case for URLs and CSS class names.

Frequently asked questions

Does sentence case keep proper nouns capitalised?

Sentence case lowercases everything except the first letter of each sentence, so you may need to re-capitalise names afterwards.

How does camelCase handle punctuation?

Spaces, hyphens, underscores and punctuation are treated as word breaks and removed, then each word after the first is capitalised.

Is there a length limit?

You can convert hundreds of thousands of characters; the conversion is instant on modern devices.
